US Government gives up against Mexican Drug Cartels

In an article from the Washington Times, "Signs in Arizona warn of smuggler dangers" (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/31/signs-in-arizona-warn-of-smuggler-dangers/) the US Gov posts signs advising travellers to avoid areas within 30 miles of Phoenix because it is unsafe.

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway in
Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning travelers
the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a local sheriff says
Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the state.
Instead of sending more federal enforcement and securing the border, Arizona received 15 warning signs from the federal government.

Local law enforcement has stated..."Mexican drug cartels literally do control parts of Arizona,". "This is going on here in Arizona," he said... "This is 70 to 80 miles from the border - 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States."

While Arizona is under attack by Mexican drug cartels, which in ALL other instances would be labeled terrorist attacks, Obama has been busy reporting Arizona to the UN for human rights violations. The Feds have also recently filed charges against Arizona colleges for requiring immigrants to complete additional paperwork proving their eligibility. Oh, the horror!

Who is in the wrong here? Obama for dont upholding the constitution (which he was sworn to uphold) and securing our borders? Or, Arizona for stepping in where the Obama has failed and trying to make Arizona safe for US citizens?

I think it's pretty obvious.

9 States support Arizona against Barry

Brief for 9 states backs Arizona immigration law
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100715/ap_on_re_us/us_immigration_states

Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia have filed a legal brief in support of Arizona's immigration law... against Obama's lawsuit against Arizona.

YES!

"Arizona, Michigan and every other state have the authority to enforce
immigration laws, and it is appalling to see President Obama use taxpayer
dollars to stop a state's efforts to protect its own borders," Cox said in a
statement

I couldn't agree more!

"By lawsuit, rather than by legislation, the federal government seeks to negate
this preexisting power of the states to verify a person's immigration status and
similarly seeks to reject the assistance that the states can lawfully provide to
the Federal government," the brief states.

By lawsuit... yet another example of Barry trying to circumvent the process and enforce his will over the country...

I'm glad to see Virginia on the list, in support of Arizona's immigration law!

Racial tension in the Democratic party

In the article...
Black House Candidate Miffed Obama Endorsed White Incumbent Over Him
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/14/black-house-candidate-miffed-obama-endorsed-white-incumbent/

A Democratic candidate is ticked off because the Prez, Mr. Obama, decided to back a white man over a black man. Further, the black democrat went out and made his racial anger known to all.

I firmly believe Obama backed the white candidate (the incumbent) for political purposes only. Had the Prez decided the white candidate couldn't benefit him, he would have chosen the black candidate.

Either way, this is a prime example of the racial tension within the Democratic party and the expectations one black man has of another mostly black man. Not all black men/women are like this, but it's there for all to see. This candidate is disgusting.

Where is the NAACP at to condemn this?

NAACP and Black Panthers against Tea Party

Today the NAACP voted to condemn the Tea PArty because of its racial undertones...
http://www.naacp.org/news/entry/naacp-delegates-vote-to-repudiate-racist-elements-within-the-tea-pary/

The NAACP's Mission and Vision statement are terrific...

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is
to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of
all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

Vision Statement
The vision of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without
discrimination based on race.
One would think the Tea Party is a terrible thing. However there has been ZERO evidence of racism within the Tea Party. The Tea Party consists of average American citizens of mixed background, fighting the sociaIism and growth of our Federal Government.

The NAACP has violated its own Mission and Vision statements by picking the Tea Party to condemn, while IGNORING the vile trash being spewed by the Black Panthers...
http://www.breitbart.tv/call-to-arms-new-black-panthers-rally-against-tea-party-police/

The Black Panthers have preached killing police, fighting crackers and explicit violence against whites. The Black Panthers have also committed intimidation at polling locations in the 2008 Presidential election.

The NAACP would be wise to condemn the White House and its administration for dropping voter intimidation charges against the Black Panthers.

Obama Administration vs Gulf Sand Berms

The Obama administration has halted the construction of sand berms in the gulf, by gulf states. What constitutional power does Obama and his administration have to do this? None.

Full Story: http://www.wdsu.com/news/23997498/detail.html

The Executive branch of the government has NO power to halt sand berm construction. The roles and responsibilities of the Exeecutive Branch are:

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_(government))...
The six roles that the top leadership of the executive branch fulfills are
as follows:
chief of state - symbolic leader of the nation
chief executive - running the functions of the state, managing the bureaucracy, and deciding how to enforce the law
chief diplomat - overseeing state's ambassadors and determining foreign policy
commander in chief - commanding the state's armed forces and
determining military policy
chief legislator - influencing the legislature by urging the passage or defeat of a new law
guardian of economy - protects the value of the currency and the money of the people

The Fish and Wildlife Services mission statement (from their website: http://www.fws.gov/info/pocketguide/fundamentals.htm)
The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to
conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for
the continuing benefit of the American people.

At what point does the Federal Government trump state? The berm creation is on state property, under state jurisdiction, to protect a state's natural resources. I think this comes down to the 9th and 10th amendments, and the pregressively growing role of the US government (growing by giving itself jurisdiction and powers not assigned by the constitution).

I have to side with the States on this one.

Now Mexico is suing Arizona over immigration law...

The Arizona law...
"The law generally requires police investigating another incident or crime to
ask people about their immigration status if there's a "reasonable suspicion"
they're in the country illegally. It also makes being in Arizona illegally a
misdemeanor, and it prohibits seeking day-labor work along the state's streets."

However, the MEXICAN law concerning Immigration (into Mexico)...

"Until recently, Mexican law made illegal immigration a criminal offense --
anyone arrested for the violation could be fined, imprisoned for up to two years
and deported
. Mexican lawmakers changed that in 2008 to make illegal immigration a civil violation like it is in the United States, but their law still reads an awful lot like Arizona's."

So... it's OK for Mexico, but NOT OK for Arizona. Is that right???

Further...
"Mexican law, however, requires law enforcement officials "to demand that
foreigners prove their legal presence in the country before attending to any
issues.""

Further, further...
"Amnesty International recently issued a report claiming illegal immigrants in
Mexico
-- typically from Central America -- face abuse, rape and kidnappings, and that Mexican police do little to stop it. When illegal immigration was a criminal offense in Mexico, officials were known to seek bribes from suspects to keep them out of jail. "

Hmmm... Where would you rather be an illegal immigrant... Mexico, or Arizona? Why is ANYONE listening to Mexico about our own USA immigration laws, and Arizona's law to uphold the Federal immigration law?

Since the Arizona law is designed to enforce the Federal immigration law already on the books (for YEARS), maybe Mexico should consider petitioning Obama to change the Federal immigration law?

I fully support LEGAL immigration and support Mexicans legally visiting the states and even legally working here. On the other hand, when Mexicans cross our borders illegally, they are instantly criminals because they've broken our law and shown complete disregard for our immigration law by sneaking in undocumented. There is NO justification for deciding NOT to uphold the immigration law in any circumstance. Our laws apply equally to all, therefore illegals MUST face punishment for breaking out law. Mexico has ZERO voice in this matter.

I hereby boycott Mexico. No more Cancun vacations for me!

If we're SOOOO BAD then Mexico should encourage it's citizens to not come here...
"Mexican officials previously had voiced opposition to the Arizona law, with
Calderon saying June 8 that the law "opens a Pandora's box of the worst abuses
in the history of humanity
" by promoting racial profiling and potentially
leading to an authoritarian society"

You gotta be kidding me... By encouraging enforcement of Federal immigration law, to verify legal status after engaging in criminal activity in Arizona, we may be participating in one of the worst abuses in the history of humanity... This from a country full of corruption and immigration laws similar, or worse, to ours.

Utter ridiculousness. Stop the madness!!!

Police move to make videoing them illegal!

A MUST read!

When the police act as though cameras were the equivalent of guns pointed at
them, there is a sense in which they are correct. Cameras have become the most
effective weapon that ordinary people have to protect against and to expose
police abuse. And the police want it to stop.

http://gizmodo.com/5553765/are-cameras-the-new-guns

If this is our last line of defense against a false charge, or a thug cop, then the ability to video must NOT be lost!

Thomas Jefferson quote

Thomas Jefferson :

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Armed Mexicans Invade USA

Fox News article: Mexican Gangs Maintain Permanent Lookout Bases in Hills of Arizona http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/06/22/mexican-gangs-permanent-lookouts-parkland/

What do you call armed foreigners crossing into another country? I call it invasion.

What if the armed foreigners have established posts, are coordinating the infiltration into the invaded country? Its called a tactical invasion.

What if the source country of the armed foreigners is not against these actions, but is supporting them by denouncing State actions to prevent it when they meet with the President? It's called invasion.

Mexican drug cartels have set up shop on American soil, maintaining lookout
bases in strategic locations in the hills of southern Arizona from which their
scouts can monitor every move made by law enforcement officials, federal agents
tell Fox News.

It's happening now. We are being invaded by armed Mexicans. The Mexican government is doing nothing to prevent it. In fact they have been in favor of Mexicans illegally entering our country for years.

What are we doing about it? Nothing.

In these areas, which are south and west of Tucson, sources said there are
“cartel scouts galore” watching the movements of federal, state and local law
enforcement, from the border all the way up to Interstate 8.

“Every night we’re getting beaten like a pinata at a birthday
party by drug, alien smugglers," a second federal agent told Fox News by
e-mail. "The danger is out there, with all the weapons being found coming
northbound…. someone needs to know about this!”

What if Iraq did this to Kuwait? Oh yeah... we invaded Iraq! What if Iran did this to us? Would it be different if armed Iranians or North Koreans were crossing our border? To use a progressive idealogy... If we allow Mexicans to do it, but wouldn't allow North Koreans... that's racism. US law is supposed to be applied equally to all with out regard to emotion or favor...

Equal application of law would stop this invasion. You think it's NOT an invasion...?
They say the area has never been controlled and has suddenly gotten worse,
with the cartels maintaining a strong presence on U.S. soil. More than ever,
agents on the front lines are wearing tactical gear, including helmets, to
protect themselves.

When somone starts bringing a gun to a boxing fight, maybe it's time to start bringing a gun too. Point is, it's time to stop being nice guys. Its time to start supporting our border agents and allowing them to use armed force against ANY armed invader.

Without placing direct fault on anyone, multiple agents told Fox that the
situation is more dangerous for them than ever now that the cartels have such a
strong position on the American side of the border.

They say morale is down among many who patrol the desolate area, and they worry that the situation won't change until an agent gets killed.

Protection of American lives and border agent's lives is priority one. The Washington DC administration is responsible for ANY US blood spilled by illegal aliens (such as the Arizona Farmer) because it's their constitutional DUTY to protect our borders!

Why are our borders still not protected? Why is the administration allowed to violate it's constitutional duty?

Racist 'Black Hole' comment by Hallmark?

NAACP Urges Hallmark to Pull 'Racist' Card From Shelves
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/06/11/naacp-urges-hallmark-pull-racist-card-shelves/

...members of the Los Angeles NAACP say it sounds like "black whore." That's how
they're hearing the card's audio component, and they say it's racist.

1- Maybe they feel somewhat quilty?
2- Does it sound like that, or does it REALLY say that?

Maybe its time to stop projecting racist perceptions onto others, Maybe the NAACP should have read the card, looked at the 'Universe' theme and realized it was 'Black Hole' they were hearing.

I guess its pretty close in 'ebonics' though...

Get over it!

I'm offended that African Americans have to have special groups just for blacks. Why can't they just be social and participate with other 'races'? Seems they have to segregate themselves.

Mexican double standard on the border

Reported from the FBI... The Mexican soldiers (possibly Police) used rifles to chase off border agents investigating the shooting of a 15 yr old boy.

FBI: Mexican soldiers used rifles to chase off U.S. Border Patrol
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/06/09/mexico-tensions-heightened-border-patrol-agent-kills-mexican-teen-near-el-paso/

From the article...

The Mexican authorities accused the Americans of trying to recover evidence from
Mexican soil and threatened to kill them if they crossed the border, prompting
both sides to draw their guns, said the 16-year-old boy who asked not to be
further identified for fear of reprisal.

Soooo.... If the US citizens crossed into Mexico, the Mexican authorities would have shot them! Maybe we should take the same position when Mexican citizens try to enter into the US. Just sayin...

Arizona Immigration Law

Arizona recently passed a law allowing Police to challenge anyone they suspect to be an illegal immigrant. The law was written to support the Federal law statin ghtat immigrants must carry identification with them at all times. It was in response to the Federal Government's "lack" of response to immigration reform. As I understand it, the Police need a justified cause to stop a person first, then reasonable suspicion to begin questions about immigrant status.

Arizona has been suffering high crime, rape, murder, DUIs, etc... by illegal immigrants. Arizona had to do something to protect it's citizens.

I have real concerns about the (say this with a German accent...) "Show me your papers", represive environment this may lead to. As with ALL laws, they can get out of hand. On the other hand, what else can Arizona legally do to protect the citizens? What happens if a legal citizen doesn't have identification when questioned by the Police? will this person be let go?

Holder, in his almighty wisdom, may be challenging this law in court...
AG: Court challenge possible on immigration law
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9FBM6681&show_article=1

Since the Health Care law came first, Holder should prioritize his challenges in order of timeline and challenge the Health Care's legality first, but I digress.

Is there anything illegal about Arizona's new law?
"Eric Holder said Tuesday that the federal government may go to court to challenge Arizona's new law which makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally."

First, lets dissect that statement. Holder wants to challenge the fact that its a state CRIME to be here ILLEGALLY. Hmmm... makes sense to me!

Second... Holder may be saying that immigration is a Federal issue, not a state issue, which doesn't make sense for two reasons. 1) Arizona is suffering because of lack of Federal enforcement of Federal law. 2) There are many examples of both Federal and State laws applying to the same issue (such as drugs). There's no reason why a state can not have an immigration law, so long as the immigration law.

"Janet Napolitano also voiced reservations about the new state law, saying it could siphon federal money and staff from hunting down dangerous immigrants."

Basically, the law would FORCE the Federal governemnt to actually enforce its own laws.

Then Obama says:
"President Barack Obama has instructed the Justice Department to examine the
Arizona law that he said last week threatens to "undermine basic notions of
fairness.""
Basic notions of fairness... like Black Panthers threatening people at voting locations, being able to make your own choice about Health Care, keeping the Federal government out of private business, or equal justice instead of social justice! Maybe Obama is just concerned about his Aunt, who's here illegally, being deported.

Me thinks there's some double standards!

2nd Amendment March in DC! YES!!!!

Hundreds of activists rallied in Washington, D.C., in support of gun rights
Monday

Which means, more like thousands...

Whole article here: Activists Rally in Washington in Support of Gun Rights
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/19/activists-rally-washington-support-gun-rights/

This Vanderboegh fellow is GREAT!

Across the Potomac River in Alexandria, former Alabama Minutemen leader Mike
Vanderboegh told the crowd armed confrontation should be reserved only for instances of the government threatening people's lives.

However, he said it might be justified if people face arrest for refusing to buy insurance under the health care reform package recently passed by Congress.

"If I know I'm not going to get a fair trial in federal court ... I at least have the
right to an unfair gunfight
," Vanderboegh said.

Wow.

I do think gun control advocate Martina Leinz missed the point...
"If they wanted to have dialogue, they don't need to bring a big weapon with
them," she said of the protesters.

2nd Amendment supporters have been silent for too long...

I have an idea what the next bill Obama will be pushing on us... V-Obama-cation! Not only will low-income people get more back in taxes than they paid into hte system, they'll also get to go to Jamaica on my dime too!

That's the funniest thing I heard in a long time. What does he take us for? Fools?

"And President Obama said at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser Thursday that Tea Party activists should "be saying thank you" to him for the tax cuts passed by his administration. "

ok... Thank you Obama for pushing the government Health Care take-over bill onto us and adding all those hidden taxes! Thank you for tripling our National Debt!

Arizona Passes Strict Illegal Immigration Bill

Sounds like a great move for the USA... on the surface.

I like this...
The measure would create a new state misdemeanor crime of willful failure to
complete or carry an alien registration document.

But, this is scary....
It would allow officers to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving
they're legally in the country.

What will be used to differentiate immigrants from citizens? This looks like it will become a slippery slope to (say with a German accent), "Your papers please?".

White House's 2011 Budget

I'm still studying and absorbing the budget, but here's a few scary pints that stand out.

According to the White House's 2011 budget we'll be spending $3,834,000,000,000 (3.8 Trillion), and are taking in $2,567,000,000,000 (2.5 Trillion). That's 1.267 Trillion in deficit for 2011. According to the projections, we will run a deficit through at least 2020.

See chart here (page 7 is the one I've been studying, other pages are just as interesting)...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2011/assets/tables.pdf

Interesting points...
2017, Social Security expenses exceed $1 billion.
2018, receive at least $1 billion in Social Security taxes.

Allowance for Health Reform... odd variances between outlays and receipts through 2020.

2009 - 2020, Security spending increases 22%
2009 - 2020, Social Security spending increases 77%
2009 - 2020, Total spending increases 62%
2009 - 2020, Total tax receipt increases 123%
2009 - 2020, Individual Income tax receipt increases 160%

Are we planning to downsize our military??? Only 22% increase in projected spending over the next 10 years? ...versus, a total tax increase of 123%???? Looks like our defense will be lacking.

From page 2... This is scary!
  • Debt held by the public increases from 2009 - 2020 from $7.545 trillion to $18, 573 trillion!!!! That's an increase of 146%
  • Yet, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increases from 2009 - 2020 from $14, 237 trillion to $24,067 trillion! That's an increase of ONLY 69%

This is a GLOOMY forecast!!!!

Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin challenges Obama's legitimacy

Wow. 3rd military officer standing up and challenging President Obama about his birth certificate.

Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin deserves our support and gratitude. He's putting his career on the line to challenge the President's legitimacy as President, based on the lack of a birth certificate.

The Army responds by requesting a brain scan of Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin.

Could this be the beginning of a military resistance to Obama's presidency? I doubt it, but it's definitly something to follow.

Tea partiers are bad????

In line with "say whatever benefits your agenda"...

Rep. Cohen: Tea Partiers Show 'Hardcore' Anger Without 'Robes and Hoods'
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/05/rep-cohen-tea-partiers-hardcore-anger-robes-hoods/

On a program called "The Young Turks" on Thursday, the Democratic Tennessee congressman said Tea Party groups show "opposition to African Americans,
hostility toward gays, hostility to anybody who wasn't just a clone of George Wallace's fan club." Wallace is the late former Alabama governor, and presidential candidate, well-known for opposing desegregation.

I just want to know what he is basing these statements on. Where's an example of "opposition to African Americans", or "hostility toward gays", or "hostility to anybody who wasn't just a clone of George Wallace's fan club".

Cohen's comments came after other lawmakers accused Tea Party activists of hurling racial slurs at black representatives on Capitol Hill during an anti-health care reform bill protest last month.

Again... there's PLENTY of video (with audio) of the instigation walk by the CBC. NOWHERE can any racial slur be heard... let alone 15 times as they claim. The racism here is the false claims of racism by the CBC.

Cohen, in his interview, went on to say that some Republicans are "afraid" to stand up to Tea Party backers. He said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., seemed uncomfortable when his former running mate, Sarah Palin, was campaigning for him last month.

So now, how something "seemed" is this important? I think the Tea Party people were more uncomfortable with Palin supporting McCain...

Federal taxes

My philosophy on Federal taxing...

Currently our Federal Government collects enough taxes to redistribute a portion back to the States, to special interest groups and to foreign entities. Soon it will redsitribute billions to third world countries if CAP and TRADE is passed. At the same time the Federal Government is increasing our National Debt by trillions.

First, if the Federal government collects enough taxes to provide a "surplus" enabling it to divert those tax dollars back to States, it has collected too much tax. There is zero function, zero basis for the Federal government to "give" money back to the States.

This gives too much power to the Federal government. The Federal government uses this cash as a bribe to get States to follow the will of the Federal government and do things against their will and the will of their people. This is called bribery. It creates crooked politicians. It also creates wasteful earmark spending when Federal tax dollars are used to fund a bridge in some remote area of a state simply because that State's politician required the funding to buy his vote.

Its also wealth redistribution. A socialist concept. When money is taken from the people of one state to fund a project in another state this is redistribution. This is wrong. Federal tax dollars should be used for the benefit of all citizens equally, not to the benefit of only a few.

Second, the "excess" tax dollars collected are given to special interest groups that, by themselves, would not exist. And, would not be able to collect enough money from private citizens because these entities do not have enough support. Many of the special interest groups receiving money do not line up with what many people believe in. Most people would not want their omney going to these organizations.

Many of these organizations have been proven to be breaking laws and engaged in criminal activity. See ACORN for one... It also pulls these organizations into politics, which diverts cash from their main purpose and taints their activities towards questionable actions.

In addition to special interests, billions of dolalrs are given to foreign entities... governments. The original purpose of giving money to some governments was the hope they would become democratic and capitalistic. however, many of the governments have only lined the pockets of their corrupt leaders while their country remains third world and starving. No improvement has been measured... why do we continue to fund other governments/countries?

Third, while our Federal government gives this money away as if it has the right to do it, our National debt has tripled. We are the most indebt country in the world. The priority of our government has become self preservation of politicians instead of supporting the constitution and the citizens of the country. We are now owned by China. Our national security is at serious risk because national decisions are influenced by the owners of our debt. Being in debt alsoleaves us little cash to apply to national emergencies, border control, and our own citizens.

Our Federal government rejects all attempts by the people, and common sense, to force a balanced budget. Congress accepts automatic yearly raises at a time when the country is in recession. They have removed themselves from the real world and are living in a fairy tale land of uncontrolable spending, a world where they are above the law and a world where they do not answer to the people anymore.

Economic Benefits of the Health Care Law...

First, AT&T, Verizon, 3M, Deere, and more (more are announcing the same as this is typed) are announcing hundreds of millions, and up to a billion, of dollars in direct write offs due to the signing of the Health Care Reform law. This is direct corporate loss...

AT&T Inc. will take a $1 billion non-cash accounting charge in the first quarter because of the health care overhaul and may cut benefits it offers to current and retired workers.
The charge is the largest disclosed so far. Earlier this week, AK Steel Corp., Caterpillar Inc., Deere & Co. and Valero Energy announced similar accounting charges, saying the health care law that President Barack Obama signed Tuesday will raise their expenses. On Friday, 3M Co. said it will also take a charge of $85 million to $90 million.

So much for the government's claim that this law was going to save money.

Our wondrous government responds by demanding the CEOs appear before Congress to explain themsleves. But, these CEOs are required to announce this important financial information to the SEC or face criminal liabilities.

Is our impartial government theatening these corporations for announcing financial information counter to what the government stated? Are these companies being threatened for not playing along? Me thinks this is a threat tactic.

What will be the end result of all these write offs? Companies will have LESS capital to re-invest in growth. Companies will have less capital to hire more employees and may not be able to maintain the employees they have now. This has a negative affect on the national economic situation.

This was created by this "Health Care for all" law which was supposed reduce costs... which Pelosi said... we will have to wait until it's passed before we know what's in it. Now that it's passed, 2 Democratic lawmakers have come forth and said this HC bill was all about wealth redistribution (Howard Dean, http://biggovernment.com/kolson/2010/03/31/uh-oh-another-dem-acknowledges-health-bill-is-wealth-redistribution/, and Max Baucus , http://biggovernment.com/kolson/2010/03/28/better-late-than-never-top-senate-dem-admits-un-american-health-bill-was-to-address-mal-distribution-of-income/), and a third came out and said it was about controlling the people (Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich, http://newsmax.com/InsideCover/healthcare-dingell-control-healthcare/2010/03/25/id/353869).

How long before Insurance companies go bankrupt and everyone is forced onto the government plan?

Now this... As part of the HC reform bill, government has taken over the student loan program.

Sallie Mae Blames 2,500 Layoffs on Obama's Student Loan Overhaul
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/30/sallie-mae-blames-layoffs-obamas-student-loan-overhaul/

So much for creating jobs, improving the economy... Obama said this was to help the students, but did they really need this kind of help? Was this called for? Do we really need to move closer to complete socialized education? How are the students going to be "helped" when there are no jobs available for them when they graduate? How will they be helped when the economy is still in recession?

Socialism is contrary to the free-market and prosperity.

Bush Wiretaps

NSA Wiretapping Was Illegal, Judge Rules
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/31/nsa-wiretapping-illegal-judge-rules/
And, it took a court to tell us these wire taps were illegal? I thought it was already common knowledge....

Republicans... Democrats... When they think they're above the law and when they run around unchecked by a government too scared to stop them, this is what happens. This is what happens when the government takes liberties against our rights and freedom in the name of National Emergency. Our constitution still applies during times of National Emergency... contrary to what many government types think!

Mexican Terrorists

Mexican Drug Gangs Attack Army Bases Near the Border
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/04/01/mexican-drug-gangs-attack-army-bases-near-border/

At what point do these Mexican gangs get labeled terrorists?

Me thinks its time for the Administration to do something about the border when the Mexican "gangs" can perform gorilla warfare on military bases. This is only a handful of days after an innocent rancher was gunned down on the border by an illegal. This is NOT ok. This is NOT acceptable.

At any other time in our history, this would have been front page news.

Earmark Moratorium for fiscal years 2010 and 2011... NOT

March 16th, the Senate voted 68 to 29 to table the earmark moratorium. This would have prevented earmarks for the rest of 2010 and for 2011. This moratorium would have saved Millions of wasted dollars... tax dollars... OUR DOLLARS!

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=111&session=2&vote=00050

Both of my Virginia Democratic Senators, Webb and Warner, voted to table this moratorium. What a shame. For ALL the Senators who voted to table this, it is clear where your priorities are. It is clear you are not for prudent spending our the people's money. Its clear you are for political paybacks and backroom deals. Earmarks are NOT what the people want from you!

Friendly & Social... FBI?

According to an AP article...
...the FBI is using fake profiles on social networking sites to gather data. Is that a good thing? Or are there privacy violations to be concerned about?

The document, obtained in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, makes clear that U.S. agents are already logging on surreptitiously to exchange messages with suspects, identify a target's friends or relatives and browse private information such as postings, personal photographs and video clips.

ok. So if you friend commits a crime, the FBI is going to be contacting you on facebook.

"It doesn't really discuss any mechanisms for accountability or ensuring that government agents use those tools responsibly," said Marcia Hoffman, a senior
attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Covert investigations on social-networking services are legal and governed by internal rules, according to Justice Department officials. But they would not say what those rules are.

Nowhere does the article indicate that a court order is required to do this. I hope that's an oversight in the article.

The article goes on to mention that Lori Drew (the California woman who is accused of using a fake MySpace account to cause a young teenager to hang herself) violated MySpace terms of service and this resulted in a conviction of 3 misdemeanor accounts, which were later overturned. Terms of Service are nowhere close to laws, but the concern arises about citizens being prosecuted for it, yet the FBI being allowed to do it. All violators should be treated equally, or not at all.

In the face-to-face world, agents can't impersonate a suspect's spouse, child, parent or best friend. But online, behind the guise of a social-networking account, they can.

"This new situation presents a need for careful oversight so that law enforcement does not use social networking to intrude on some of our most personal relationships," said Zwillinger, whose firm does legal work for
Yahoo and MySpace.

So, who is going to provide oversight to the FBI?
Where does the FBI draw the line?
What are the rules that the FBI is supposedly following?
What's to stop the FBI from snooping on innocent citizens?

Something to be concerned about!
